The Hunt For Yeast

Like everyone else during this crazy time, I have started to bake bread. I’ve baked bread before but it never really was my go-to baking project. I’ve baked challah for many Jewish holidays, made yeasted desserts, and even gone the cinnamon roll route. However, plain old bread never really was a priority.

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

Apple Cake

Fruit in desserts can sometimes be controversial. Some pairings are meant to be. Like apple pie,  strawberry shortcake, and my family’s apple cake recipe.

Blood Orange Shortbread Bars

I’m all about the seasonal fruits. Berries and stone fruit in the summer and spring, apples and figs in the fall, and oranges in the winter. My current obsession: blood oranges.
