Ingredients

Orange Base
  • 3 large oranges, peeled and sliced
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon honey (optional)
Whipped Cream Filling
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • zest of an orange

Equipment

  • Popsicle Mold

Method

  1. Prepare a popsicle mold with popsicle sticks. Set to the side.
  2. In a blender, blend the oranges, heavy cream, vanilla, and salt until smooth and creamy. If you don't want pulp in the popsicles, strain the orange base until it runs clean.
  3. Make the whipped cream mixture. In a medium-sized bowl with a hand mixer or whisk or in the bowl of a stand mixer with a whisk attachment, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, about 5-6 minutes. When the whipped cream is ready, fold in the sweetened condensed milk and orange zest.
  4. Assemble the popsicle. Take the mold and alternate filling it with the orange juice mixture and the whipped cream mixture. The whipped cream mixture will be thick and will be best added to the popsicle mixture with a spoon.
  5. Place the filled popsicle mold in the freezer and freeze for 12 hours or overnight. When ready to remove the popsicles, let them thaw for a minute on the counter. If they won't come out of the mold, run the mold under warm water.

Notes

If the orange mixture is rather tart, honey can be mixed in to make the base sweeter.
