Peanut butter and chocolate is a classic duo that gets it right every single time, especially in these chocolate peanut butter blondies. They are full of peanut butter and chocolate chips, super gooey, and very delicious.

Chocolate and peanut butter blondies sliced on a piece of parchment paper with chocolate and peanut butter chips in between.

If Reese's is your go-to candy, something tells me you will be all over these chocolate peanut butter blondies. This sweet treat takes that flavor combination you know and love and transforms it into a tasty blondie.

    Chocolate Peanut Butter Blondies

Blondies are one of my favorite desserts to make. They are quick, usually made in one bowl, and allow for loads of mix-ins to create great flavor combinations. Like their cousin, the brownie, they are cut into bars and have their signature corner pieces and crinkle top.

What I love about blondies is that they always let the mix-ins shine. In this case, the peanut butter and chocolate combo is the star of the show. The blondies get a double dose of peanut butter with pb mixed into the batter and with peanut butter chips. The chocolate chips tie it all together to make one true mouthwatering bite.

Why I Love The Chocolate Peanut Butter Blondies

    • Simple and Quick - The blondies can be made in one bowl and whip up quickly.
    • Classic Combo - What's not to love about chocolate and peanut butter?
    • Peanut Butter Overload - It's peanut butter on peanut butter. It's never too much of a good thing!

Ingredients Needed To Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Blondies

Ingredients for chocolate peanut butter blondies

See below for all the details on what you'll need to make the full recipe.

    • Peanut butter - Skip the natural and use something creamy like Skippy.
    • Chocolate chips - Any type of chocolate chip will work.
    • Peanut butter chips - Like chocolate chips, but with peanut butter.
    • Cornstarch - Keeps the texture soft and chewy.

Directions For How To Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies

    Peanut butter blondie batter

    1. Prepare.

Preheat the oven to 350 and prepare an 8x8 pan with parchment. Set to the side.

    2. Mix together ingredients.

In a large bowl, whisk the brown sugar, egg, vanilla, salt, butter, and peanut butter until smooth.

    3. Add in dry ingredients.

Fold in the flour and cornstarch until the mixture is smooth and one color.

    4. Add the chocolate and peanut butter chips.

Add in the chocolate and peanut butter chips, mixing until fully distributed.

    5. Bake the blondies.

Place the batter in the prepared pan using a rubber spatula. Top with extra chocolate and peanut butter chips. Bake the blondies for 35 minutes and let them cool in the pan.

    Make Ahead and Storage

The chocolate peanut butter blondies can easily be made ahead of time. Store them in an airtight container until they are ready to serve. Extra blondies can also be stored in an airtight container, where they will last 4-6 days. The blondies can also be made and frozen. Freeze them in an airtight container or plastic wrap. They will last about 2-3 months in the freezer.

    Tips and Variation

    • No Chocolate - Want to double up on peanut butter? No problem. Leave out the chocolate chips and double the amount of peanut butter chips.
    • Baking Time - The blondies bake up fast, so keep an eye on them in the oven. When the edges start to pull away from the pan, they are done.
    • Swirls - If you'd rather have swirls than chips, melt the chips and swirl them into the batter before placing them in the oven.

    FAQs

What's the difference between a blondie and a brownie?

A blondie uses vanilla and brown sugar, while a brownie uses cocoa and chocolate. They are similar in texture but very different in taste.

Are blondies supposed to be gooey?

A blondie has a great texture when it is chewy on the inside and firm on the outside. You want the middle to be slightly gooey.

Why did my blondies turn into cake?

If your blondies look like cake when you take them out of the oven, you've overcooked them. The blondies will cook up very fast, so keep an eye on the edges when they are cooking. When they start to pull away from the pan, they are done.
