In the summer, there is no such thing as too much peach cobbler, especially when it is in donut form. These peach cobbler donuts take everything you love about the classic summer dessert and turn it into a tasty donut.
Peach Crumble Baked Donuts
These peach cobbler donuts are a mashup I wish I had thought of sooner. Peach cobbler is one of my favorite summer desserts, and donuts are always a good idea, so the mashup just makes sense. The baked donuts have a cakey base and are topped with chopped peaches and crumbs to make the signature crumble topping.
Donut making is easier than you think — especially with baked donuts. They are basically like making cupcakes, just in a donut pan. The batter easily bakes up nice and fluffy in the pan. Unlike yeast donuts, there is no waiting around for these treats. The donuts go right into the oven and bake up in no time.
The true star of these donuts, though, is the peach crumble topping. It all kinds of mashes together on top of the donut batter in the pan to create an overflowing mess of flavor. To ensure a peach in each bite, I like to roughly chop them into small chunks. That way, they spread out evenly around the donut batter when baked.

See below for all the details on what you'll need to make the full recipe.
- Peaches - Roughly chop them into small chunks.
- Brown Sugar - The brown sugar goes in both the batter and crumb topping.
- Sour Cream - Keeps the donuts fluffy and light.
- Nutmeg - A small pinch, along with the cinnamon, gives the cake donut a tasty flavor.
- Milk - I like to use whole milk.
Directions For How To Make Peach Crumble Donuts
- Prepare.
Preheat the oven to 350 and prepare a donut pan with grease. Set to the side.
- Make the crumb topping.
In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, flour, and melted butter. Mix with a fork until the crumbs start to form. Set to the side.
- Prepare the peaches.
Chop the peaches into rough, small chunks. Set to the side.
- Make the donut batter.
Mix the flour, baking soda and powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium-sized bowl. Whisk in the melted butter, eggs, brown sugar, milk, sour cream, and vanilla. Continue to whisk until everything is fully mixed.
- Form the donuts.
Pour the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling it about ⅔rd of the way. Top with the chopped peaches and crumb topping.
- Bake the donuts.
Bake the donuts for 10-12 minutes. Let them fully cool, or else they will fall apart when you try to take them out of the pan.
Serving Suggestion
There is never a wrong time to eat a donut. These treats are great for a breakfast, dessert, brunch, or afternoon treat. Serve them with vanilla ice cream to take them to the next level.
Make Ahead and Storage
The one downside to these donuts is that they don't last long. Cake donuts can go stale fast, so making them the day you want to eat them is best. If you have any extras, you can freeze them. Keep them in an airtight container in the freezer for 2-3 months.
Tips and Variations
- Fruit Swap - Peaches not in season or simply not a fan? Swap them out for berries or apples. Basically, anything you make a crumble with will work in these donuts.
- Filling the Donut Pan —The donut pan can easily be overfull. Keep the batter about ⅔rds of the way full, and top the rest with peaches and crumbs. If the crumbs overflow, it's okay, as they will just make a large crumb topping.
- Drying Out - These cake donuts can dry out pretty quickly. Make sure you don't overbake them in the oven. If the dough looks too thick, add more milk to moisten it up.
